For clients wishing to receive additional images of Lots in our weekly sales, please email with the lot numbers that you would like more images of and your full name. We will be able to respond from 9am to midday Monday mornings.

We are happy to take pre-bids (absentee bids) over the telephone and via email.

If you wish to leave absentee bids please ensure that we receive the bids no later than 12.00 Noon on the day of the auction to allow us the administrative time to process the bids before the sale starts at 1pm.

Should your bid(s) be successful, we require payment by the close of business on Tuesday and the purchased goods need to be removed promptly.

Payment can be made by cash or card at the office. If you cannot attend the Rooms to make the payment, it is possible to pay online on receipt of your email address we will send you a Worldpay link to finalise payment.

 Unfortunately, we cannot handle postage inquiries for goods. Should you need postage we recommend that you contact ‘Mailboxes’ for a quotation. 

Given the new circumstances that we all face, we are trying our best to have a more digital presence and assist customers the best we can. Please appreciate that this is an evolving process, there will no doubt be technical glitches that we will endeavour to resolve ASAP.

We have a limited team and try our very best to respond to everyone, however, due to high demand and a limited timescale, we are not always able to respond to all inquiries.

We very much encourage customers to come into the Rooms to view the items on offer.

Our viewing hours are every Saturday from 9am – 4pm and on Mondays from 8am – 1pm.

What happens if I wish to bid but cannot attend the auction? We have members of staff that can bid on your behalf. There is a simple commission bid form to tell us the maximum amount that you are prepared to spend on each Lot.

Selling at Southgate Auctions is a really easy process. Simply bring items into the saleroom for assessment, email us photographs or a free home visit can be arranged. Unlike many Auction Houses, we pay out, by cash, cheque or BACS, just 2 days after the auction.
